Majuli Cycle Café sits quietly near the Majuli Post Office in Garmur, blending café culture with a practical twist on sustainable local travel. This spot isn’t just about grabbing a coffee; it’s a small hub that encourages visitors to explore the river island in an eco-friendly way.

The atmosphere here leans towards casual and welcoming, with the café operated by a friendly team who seem genuinely invested in sharing knowledge about Majuli beyond just serving drinks. It feels like a place where travelers pause not just to rest but to get pointers on navigating the island's challenging terrain.

The café itself serves decent coffee that fits well with the laid-back vibe of Majuli. There’s probably no rush here, so mid-mornings or early afternoons work best for settling in with a cup before or after a cycle ride.

What really sets this location apart is the bicycle rental service. Given the island’s very limited motorable roads, renting a mountain terrain bike here is one of the most convenient ways to explore Majuli’s rural villages and natural spots. The bikes are relatively new and well-made, though a bit of maintenance could improve the experience for frequent users. A day's rental is budget-friendly, making it accessible for solo travelers and small groups alike who want to cycle at their own pace.

For locals and visitors interested in sustainable tourism, Majuli Cycle Café doubles as a small community initiative. It makes cycling an approachable option on the island while fostering local employment. The attached library space adds another layer, offering a quiet corner for readers and those seeking a low-key cultural connection.

Overall, this is a spot best suited for travelers who enjoy a balanced blend of light refreshment, practical local transport, and a chance to engage more meaningfully with Majuli’s unique landscape and community. If you’re set on exploring Majuli by bike and appreciate a thoughtful pause in a friendly, no-frills setting, the Majuli Cycle Café is worth stopping by during daylight hours.

A good initiative to promote sustainable tourism and create livelihood among the host community in Majuli. They are the first mover to introduce Cycle on Majuli along with Café culture by Root Bridge Foundation (NGO) along with Assam Tourism

A cycle cafe in the mystic island Majuli to promote Carbon Free Tourism. A great initiative. Visitors can rent a quality new generation Mountain Terrain Bike at a reasonable rate for daily usage. Cycles are one of the most convenient transport for one who wish to visit the local villages since there is extreme shortage of motorable roads in the island.
